Aquarian Pearls Photo Shoot

A few weeks back I was honoured with the opportunity to work with Aquarian Pearls in a fashion style shoot in Sydney's CBD. The company founded by David Norman in 1985 and set up as a south sea pearl trading company, specialises in sourcing the finest pearls and pearl jewellery to the consumer from the worlds’ finest pearl cultivators in Australia, Japan, French Polynesia, The Philippines, Burma and Indonesia. David is a fifth generation pearl merchant with the families association with pearls going back to the 1830’s.

His father Boris owned a pearl farm on Thursday Island of the coast of Queensland in the north of Australia and also ran his father Michels pearl trading business, The Australian Pearl Co. which was based in London and incorporated in 1937 after trading pearls in Paris on the Rue Lafayette.

The Jeweler behind the beautiful creations is Kate Vivas, She apprenticed in Vienna under a Master Jeweller. and worked in a pearl business before joining David in late 2010, becoming the inhouse designer who manufactured and created the Matahina Pearls line for local TV company TVSN and the designs for Aquarian Pearls’ local and international clientele. Kate is also fully qualified Gemmologist, Diamond Grader, and Valuer

How to buy : Aquarian Pearls is located on level 3 of the office building “The Trust Building” with entry from King Street past Hermes shop entrance. You will then Take the lift to level 3 and ring the bell so the staff can show you into the show room.

Sydney CBD Photoshoot.

I had a chance to photograph their exquisite jewellery with the aid of talented identical twin models Chelsea and Jessica Chamberlin and the always lovely Victoria in a street shoot in Sydney's CBD, and have to say the lustre of the Tahitian and Gold Pearls that Aquarian Pearls are renowned for, made for truly breathtaking photography as we sort to showcase the beautiful pieces of jewellery.
